Today I am spending the whole day in Florence and man, is it hot! We checked into the most amazing vila yesterday afternoon, about 45 min. outside of Florence, in a small town called Reggello. The place is called Vila il Crocicchio, and I am sure everyone on the tour would agree it's the nicest place we have stayed so far. It is a working farm, out in the Tuscan countryside producing most of their own food, wine and olive oil. They have a big swimming pool, horses and mountain bikes to use, but we don't have that much time there to utilize it all. We arrived yesterday afternoon very hot, sweaty and tired after a long day on the bus from Venice, stopping for a few hours in San Maggiano, one of the many hill towns in Tuscany. It was very cute, but packed with tourists and very hot. I couldn't wait to get out of there. After checking into our rooms we all went for a swim in the pool and had several bottles of the local wine, very good. They also prepared an excellent 4-course dinner out in the garden, which was very tasty. Today we got up at the crack of dawn to head into Florence and will get back to the vila around 5:30, so we will still have time for a swim and to relax by the pool with a glass or two of wine. Tomorrow we get up early and head to Rome. Hard to believe the tour is almost over, this time on Saturday I will be in Dublin.

ciao for now,

Rich
