The tree lined Cours Mirabeau one of many small squares in the old town flower market
I arrived here yesterday afternoon with less than 24 hours here. Not much to say except that I am feeling tired of being a tourist. Other than doing the self-guided town walk and sitting in a cafe people watching and sipping cafe au laits, I have just been hanging out in my hotel room. Its one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in on this trip so I am taking advantage of the free wi-fi connection and cable tv. It also has a bathtub, rare in most European hotels, and its a big, old tub that I actually fit in (even rarer), so I took a long, hot bath. There isn`t a lot to do here anyway other than people watch. Aix is a university town and is filled with lots of goodlooking people - make that a lot of gorgeous people. One of its nicknames is `sex-on-Provence`.

This morning was a market day and the big tree-lined street in front of my hotel - known as the Cours Mirabeau, was filled with vendors selling all sorts of things. One of the small squares was filled with flowers and fresh fruit and vegetables. It smelled increbible.
