| | We arrived in Bern, the Swiss capital yesterday and immediately started checking hotels until meeting our local guide. Rick says Bern is his favorite city in Switzerland, but I dont think it compares to Luzern. Maybe its because of all the construction, which is a big mess, or maybe just because its so damn HOT. I thnk I lost 10 lbs in sweat yesterday from just walking around in the heat. We must have walked about 15 miles and its in the 90's. At 8:00 last night, after going non-stop all day, I said 'Rick, I need to stop eat something and I mean now, not later.' I think he forgets that not everyone is as driven as he is. Its esp. hard going from restaurant to restaurant when I am hungry. We got back to the hotel around 10 and I took a shower and collapsed into bed. The area in front of our hotel is one big construction zone and they were working until after midnight. It was so hot I had to leave the windows open. Even with earlpugs I could still hear the pounding. Needless to say, even though I was exhausted I didn't sleep too well. We head to Interlaken next. I didn't take many photos here; I was just too busy, and it was overcast and muggy, not too great for photos. |
