Odense town square HCA himself the Hans Christian Andersen museum
It's a rainy, gray Saturday morning here in Odense (pr. Oh-then-zuh). I arrived yesterday afternoon later than expected and literally had to run around town updating what I could before everything closed. Luckily this is a small chapter, so was able to finish up this morning before heading out. No time to add any restaurant listings, maybe next time.

Odense is the birthplace of Hans Christian Anderson, and it's all about him here. There's a museum here built onto what was his childhood home. It's a modern, glass and metal building, very interesting, but doesn't seem to fit in the neighborhood with all the small, colorful old 18th-century cottages. There's a little park at his museum, which has a children's museum and several fairy tale-like buildings. From what I've learned about him on this trip, he seems to be a man who was stuck in childhood and fantasy. It seems he and MIchael Jackson had a lot in common.
